7 Ways To Boost Your Confidence

“With confidence, you have won before you have started.”

-Marcus Garvey

When you strengthen your confidence, you give yourself that notable extra boost that helps you press on when times get hard. Belief in yourself puts you in a position to trust yourself, be more resilient, and move from setback to triumph with ease.Need to develop more confidence? Try these confidence-boosting strategies:

7.) Be vulnerable: Ditch the fake it till you make it mindset. It's okay to say that you don't know something. It opens the door for people to want to help you and teach you. Avoid feeling like you always have to be right (that's not confidence). Instead, seek to get the correct information to continuously grow your knowledge. That's true confidence.

6.) Surround yourself with like-minded people: people either add to your energy or take away from it. So, create a tribe that believes in you and is willing to fix your crown when you feel like it's slipping off. To build your confidence, you need people around you who will hold you up and not tear you down. Take inventory of who you spend your time with and adjust as needed.

5.) Express gratitude: practice being grateful for the things important to you. Even expressing gratitude for the simple things in life can help you appreciate all the things you have overcome and accomplished to get to where you are today. Accept compliments and trust that the person is being genuine when they give you one. Note that the area in which you are receiving the praise is potentially an area of strength.

4.) Believe In You: Look at yourself in the mirror and truly believe you can accomplish the things you set your hands to achieve. Don't let anyone make you think that you aren't capable. So, stand up for yourself, your beliefs, and your dreams.

3.) Practice Positive Self-Talk: Use positive self-talk to allow more of your confidence to shine through. Affirmations are a great way to speak words of encouragement to your heart and mind. Try using "I am" statements as a start.

2.) Trust the process: If you are struggling at something that has you down, just remember that practice makes perfect. Tap into your resources and ask for help. You'll be amazed how a little consistency can improve performance over time.

1.) Be Prepared: When you are prepared, your confidence naturally increases. Ensure you are adequately prepared for meetings, presentations, etc. You'll see how a little bit of preparation helps you show up more confidently.
