I can remember sitting in a room and feeling completely invisible. The sad part was that I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to be seen.

The what-ifs were always playing in my head, looping around and around like a merry-go-round.

• What if I said the wrong thing

• What if they realized I’m not as smart as they are

• What if I fell on my face

• What if, what if, what if

I was stuck in my own head, without a clue as to how to rescue myself. I was waiting for someone to come and kickstart my life. After all, there had to be more to life than this.

I was going the extra mile, but making a HUGE mistake, waiting for life to happen to me vs. making things happen for me.

But something shifted.

I thought I had proven myself and earned a promotion. Boy, was I WRONG and crushed when I found out it went to an external candidate.

Now, let’s be real, the shift didn’t happen immediately. I was shocked, angry, disappointed…blah, blah, blah! My already fragile confidence took a hit, and I was shaken.

So, what was I missing?

• I didn’t have clarity, and because I lacked clarity

• I lacked confidence, and without confidence

• I lacked the energy needed to MAKE things happen, and without energy

• I lacked momentum…true momentum to push me towards my goals

It’s not enough to work hard.

Once I figured out what was missing, I pursued it relentlessly, and that is when the shift occurred. I decided to own my career, own my growth, and own my advancement. I decided to get unstuck!

It happened when I owned my space and gained loads of clarity about what I wanted and who was responsible for making it happen, which increased my confidence. The shift in my energy elevated me to a higher frequency. I saw opportunities where I once saw roadblocks. I walked differently, talked differently, and took up space differently.
